Dartmouth..
I just got back from another weekend away from home. I spent it with my family in Dartmouth in Devon, a very fascinating area which is currently celebrating their 164th Regatta. This small but beautiful part of Britain is about 4h30mins drive from London (on a not-so busy day), however in summer and before major events, it is 7hours drive for the 270miles.
Dartmouth reminds me of Antibes (located in South of France), it has an old town full of shops bursting with colours and creativity. Life around Dartmouth revolves around the river and its surrounding beaches. A day walking in town made it to my top 5 best places to be (in no particular order) – Antibes, Monaco, St Tropez, Dartmouth and Corsica – All these places are easy to love, have friendly and welcoming local population (although some are quite hostile), history, nautical activities, one of a kind shops, established restaurants and clean promenades (most of the times).
In short, we roamed around the town, went to the castle, took a boat to Totness, bus to Paignton and steam train back to Dartmouth. The engagement shoot with clients was in Blackpool sands- a very pretty, well maintained (dog-free) beach. We had good food and excellent local ice cream.
We were also lucky to have found a lovely B&B accommodation which is affordable, well maintained with lots of character and very close to the town centre. Not to forget their full English breakfast which is excellent.
Below are some photos from the trip.
