Wild London Harry Potter premiere

Yesterday was the London premiere for Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince and it was raining! From 8Am this morning, the fans started to gather on Leicester Square in front of Odeon Cinema. The number of fans increased as the day went by. This was my first attendance to any premiere and it’s crazy.

Fortunately after sometime, the rain stopped. I moved to another point and I was (two layers) closer from the barrier.  It was fine when no celebrity shows up, but when Grint, Watson, Rickman and Radcliffe arrived it was chaos. Honestly, the heat of the bodies, makes my weatherproof camera mist up.  Old men who should know better gentlemanly manners pushed hard to get closer without consideration of the thin and small females already packed in that space. And no matter how much  elbowing you give him, he did not even bat an eye. Even if it is obvious that both sides in front of the cinemas are closed, many people still attempted to go through and nobody bothers to tell them. Anyway, after my feet got abused (stepped on, fortunately no heels) ever so often, I started to call out that it aint possible to go through so my feet and cameras won’t be abused anymore.

Amidst the chaos ensued by celebrities, I manage to capture the images below without the camera falling on someone’s head… Well, I asked permission to use that head as a tripod instead (Thank you!)

Overall it’s great in a wild way, the celebrities look beautiful and they took time to sign autographs. I hope they look up from time to time though, because they mostly look like they were sleeping.

I cannot wait to watch the movie but I must do a quick re-read of the book first.
