Website Plagiarism
I firmly believe in providing the client all the information needed to help them decide to use my services as a photographer. That is the reason I put a lot of text to help them, the most important of all is the pricing page which I update regularly.. and before or after every update I check with Copyscape. This week I decided to take off the free prints from the portrait packages as most of my clients opt out of it and after changing I did my Copyscape check… and there sitting online are two websites, both photographers having exactly the same list of items I have on my pricing, except of course for the pricing… Coincidence? I think not. I should be flattered but then I’ve researched on my prices and the things I believe my clients would like to have, so for that to be copied is just not fair.
I also found some of what I wrote on my homepage on another website but at least, he put something more to it to reflect what he really does.
Do you have a website? Are you concious about what you write on your pages? Check out if you are alone online or if someone shares your ideas by going to COPYSCAPE (www.copyscape.com)
I know I am for sure I wrote something first because one of them only registered their websites this year (in March) and those text on my pricing has been there since last year only minor updates are made.
