December snow

This past two weeks, we had snow here in London. I am very thankful it arrived at the end of school term – during the school’s Christmas holiday. Although I lived in Europe for 10 or so years, I am still not used to having snow over me. And whenever it comes, we are often full of excitement. So it wasn’t surprising to find us all giddy when the first snowflakes fell. The children were glued to the window asking every single minute when can they build a snowman.

I had hoped to let them play in the snow covered playground. Unfortunately, it was closed so I just let them walk around. It did not have the same effect I wanted, but at least they were relatively tired when we got home.

Snow on my side of London, taken with an E-3

Fortunately the second time it snowed which was this week, it was heavy enough to build a snowman. It was my first ever built snowman and I am very proud of my work :-) I even used craft eyes and nose and made a hat and used one of my handmade scarves.

Sure enough, my children played with the snow. What else can I do but join them?

I took my flashguns out put them on stands and triggered them wirelessly. Cold weather is nothing to my E-3 camera and the 11-22mm and 35-100mm f2 lenses. However, the flashguns and trigger have other ideas. In this wather condition, I my wireless triggers misfired and the Metz 58AF flashgun on RC did not work! Batteries drained quicker as well!

Anyway, twas a lovely and fun evening.

Thank you for visiting and I do hope you enjoy looking at the images.
