Wild Daisy
carpet of daisies, originally uploaded by Mushroom & Gadgets.
A clear indication that summer has indeed arrived. The wild daisy can cover your lawn if left unattended. To some it may be a “noxious weed” but others like myself still love seeing these small little flowers.
The name “daisy” derives from Old English name that means ” days eye”.
I found an old book in the shop a while ago and it is about the language of flowers. It said that the wild daisy means ” I will think of it”
It must not be confused with another Daisy flower whose old name was “bruisewort”. That daisy means “Innocence”.
