Daily Picture | Bridal portrait while getting ready

wedding photography stratford upon avon menzies hotel

I love creating fun portraits. I love it when my client is at ease and having a laugh. They are already stressed about the wedding so why add more? It is more fun to chat about unimportant things and distract the bride and get her to relax a bit without resorting to alcoholic beverages. These moments always makes beautiful pictures.

I always love it when a wedding includes me photographing the preparations. The flurry of activities in one room would make one’s head to spin. Like when the bride’s family come around to see if they can help, sometimes it is emotional and sometimes they worry and other times there’s loads of laughter. The ooh-ing and ahhh-ing usually happens when the flower girls and page boys arrive , it continues with the wedding party. There’s the giggling when the brides gets in her dress and a hush when everything is in place.

It is a privilege to be there to capture these moments. When you just observe, it does not matter whether you have the latest and greatest camera in the world or not. So long as you got the picture of the moment, their choice of venue, their excitement and some details.

This bridal portrait was shot in Menzies Welcombe Hotel in Stratford upon Avon. This bride’s friends were trying to get to strike a pose.

Weddings | Karen & Philip

   Love is a beautiful thing.

Karen & Philip lived different and colourful lives before meeting each other. Their courtship was as explained by Steven, Philip’s son, like having a besotted teenager. So on the 26th of August within the walls of London’s famous Tower Bridge, Karen and Philip tied the knot surrounded by their family and friends. A short but very beautiful ceremony full of mischief (from the groom mostly). Karen, a former opera singer sang a beautiful song during the ceremony.

Weddings | Menzies Welcombe Hotel Bridal Shoot

We had a lovely time at the Menzies Welcombe Hotel in Stratford Upon Avon.

It may be a bit of a drive from London but I think it is well worth the effort. This Jacobean house built in 1866 standing on 157 acres of beautiful grounds is licensed to hold wedding and civil partnership ceremonies.  Everything a bride and groom needs in one place.

Every where in this building calls for a picture – be it the hall way on the ground floor or the first floor, the wooden stairs with it’s beautiful details and light, the bar and most specially the bridal suite. Everywhere we go we have beautiful lighting for beautiful bridal pictures.

And my only advise to the brides who are having their wedding ceremony and wedding reception at Welcombe hotel is to make sure your photographer have enough time to photograph this venue with you in it beautifully.

London Wedding Photographer | Love the Dress | Bridal shoot at St Mary’s South Woodford

More of the bridal shoot…

St Mary’s Church in South Woodford do not have the wow factor when you first see it… It must be those really old graves up the front or the sides but… I think you’d miss out a lot of opportunities for great and creative pictures from this venue if you don’t stop by and see for yourself and imagine…

With it’s big windows, space and other minor features, you’ll have a lot of photo opportunities here and besides if it rains or if it’s cold  .. the space and available light are a great advantage. (more…)
